Calvin A. Thomas, 78, of Taylorsville, MS, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Rolling Acres Nursing Home in Raleigh, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tommy McNair will officiate and will be assisted by Rev. Bobby McKay and Don McDaniel

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Addie Ella Smith Thomas; brothers, Otho and David Thomas and sister, Nora Harrison. Survivors include his wife, Sue Thomas, Taylorsville, MS; sons, John Thomas (Jackie), Taylorsville, MS and Wesley Thomas, Taylorsville, MS; daughter, Peggy McDaniel (Don), Forest, MS; sisters, Agnes Miley (Glen), Pulaski, MS and Stella Bowron, Jackson, MS; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Seth McDaniel, Micah Thomas, Kyle Brantley, Zach Rowell, Ryan Pittman, and Dennis Thomas. Jack Bankston will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville which is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
