Obituary

Adolph Dykes, 82, of Laurel, Mississippi, died Thursday, February 20, 2020 in Jasper County, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, June 27, 1937 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Green Gate Farms in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Green Gate Farms and the Burial will follow in Fair Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Ken Johnson and Nicholas Ulmer will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. (601) 649-3342

Adolph proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict. He later married the love of his life Opal Dykes whom he was married to for 50 years. He was a music minister for over 50 years in various churches where he also served as a Deacon. He loved music and was part of a quartet for many years. Adolph's passion was studying the bible and learning all he could about his favorite subject Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. For over 40 years he worked in the automotive industry as a mechanic for Ford Motor Co.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Dykes, parents, Sam and Elma Dykes, sisters, Betty Jo Mauldin, Dorothy Jones.

Survivors include his daughter, Toni Ezell, grandson, Tyler Ezell, Anthony Hill, sisters, Carol Ulmer (Roger), Jan Belvins, and a host of nieces and nephews.
