Aletha Nell McAndrew, aged 75, passed away peacefully at her residence in Laurel, MS, on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Born on August 11, 1949, in Laurel, Mississippi, Aletha spent her life surrounded by the love of her family and community.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Donald McAndrew, her father, Henry Pearson, her mother, Leta Partridge Pearson, her brothers, Henry Lee Pearson and Walter Berry Pearson, and her sister, Wren Read.

Aletha is survived by her sons, Jason McAndrew and his wife Bryna of Laurel, MS, and Jeremy McAndrew and his wife Leah; her daughter, Terra Allen and her husband Eric of Laurel, MS. She was a proud grandmother to Justin Presley, AnnaGrace Allen, James Allen and his wife April, Jacey McAndrew, Jaxon McAndrew, Trent McAndrew, Thomas McAndrew, Blake McAndrew, Turner McAndrew, and Tyson McAndrew. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Gipson and her husband James.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial to follow in Myrick Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. J.R. Eaton and Bro. Bob Taylor will officiate the services.

Pallbearers will include Ricky Barrett, Donivan McCurley, Justin Presley, and James Allen, with honorary pallbearers being John Pearson, James Gipson, Jaxon McAndrew, Trent McAndrew, Thomas McAndrew, Blake McAndrew, Turner McAndrew, and Tyson McAndrew.

Aletha's life was a testament to her love for her family and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
