Alvis Willoughby "Butch" Hopkins, Jr., 65, of Laurel, MS passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Monday, November 25, 1957 in Laurel, Mississippi.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342

Butch worked as a welder for Masonite for many years and later worked for Casey Industrial for 18 years. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and going fishing. Butch loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alvis W. Hopkins, Sr.; mother, Mary Long Hopkins; brother, Buddy Holifield; sister, Betty Spencer.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Patricia Peacock Hopkins; daughter, Brett Hopkins; brother, Bo Holifield; grandson, Cameron Hartfield; granddaughters, Ashlyn Hopkins and Aubrey Hartfield as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
