Annie Mae Ishee, 99 of Laurel, MS went to her Heavenly Home surrounded by her family Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Comfort Care Nursing Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Sunday, June 28, 1924, in Jasper County, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Matthews Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi with burial to follow. Bro. Paul Matte and Bro. Kevin Williamson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.
Ms. Annie Mae affectionately known as "Aunt Dump" was a member of Moss First Church of God. She had a kind compassionate spirit and was loved by all. She loved the Lord and although was homebound for a few years, she continued to study her Bible and in the last few months had it read to her and Christian music played. Ms. Annie loved her family and treasured her time with them. She was an avid quilter and had made all the ladies and newborns in her family a quilt. She retired from the Northern Electric Company in Bay Springs, MS.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, B.F. Ishee; infant daughter, Linda Ann Ishee; father, William Edward Stringer; mother, Mary Leatha Mauldin Stringer; brothers, Lester Stringer, Marvin Stringer, Elvin Stringer, James Ray Stringer and Dennis Stringer; sisters, Nezzie Mae Moore and Nobie Mae Moss; beloved daughter-in-law, Nelda Ishee.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Gail Parker (Lewis) and Sherry Graham (Burnis); son, Richard "Ricky" Ishee; grandchildren, Brian Graham, Adam Graham (Angela), Maria Ishee, Ginny Chandler (Chris) and Tammy Alexander (Allen); brother, Royce T. "John" Stringer; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Graham, Adam Graham, Kylon Buquoi, Chris Chandler, Brante Hester, and Stoney Stringer.
The family wishes to thank the CNAs and nurses on hall 4 at Comfort Care Nursing Center for their nursing care and compassion.
