Archie Wayne Courtney, 76 of Laurel, MS passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his residence in Calhoun, MS. He was born Tuesday, March 25, 1947, in Scott County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Forest, Mississippi. Bro. Ken Riley will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342

He was preceded in death by his father, Ruben Courtney; mother, Mary Aline Baker Courtney; nephews, Michael Courtney, Dean Courtney; sister-in-laws, Marie Courtney and Noreene Courtney.

Survivors include his wife, Zellene Beasley; daughters, Amberlee Butler (David) and Shasta Roberson (Brian); grandchildren, Hunter Scrimpshire (Summer), Dillon Scrimpshire (Shauna) and Courtney Roberson; brothers, Bobby Courtney (Melva), Harold Courtney, Jimmy Courtney and Doug Courtney; great grandchildren, Izzy Scrimpshire, Annastyn Scrimpshire, Colter Scrimpshire and Lucy Faye Scrimpshire; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Scrimpshire, Dillon Scrimpshire, Pete Beasley, Adam Beasley, Terry Beasley.
