Barbara J. Smith, 78, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away Thursday December 23, 2021, at Comfort Care Nursing Home in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Monday, November 15, 1943, in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First Baptist of Calhoun in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist of Calhoun with burial to follow in First Baptist Calhoun Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin C. "Bo" Smith; parents, Walter "W.C." and Ernestine Scott; best friend, Ruby J. Bynum

Survivors include her children, Gabrielle West (Keith), Isaac Smith, and Danielle Dyess (Michael); grandchildren, Brandon Giovengo (Mallory), Jessica Smith (Kyle), Jared West, Tyler Dyess, and Hunter Dyess; great-grandchildren, Abree Giovengo, AnaLynn Giovengo, Hunter Smith, and Ellie Jo Smith; sister, Rita Taylor (Scott); niece, Kelsey Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Dyess, Brandon Giovengo, Kyle Smith, Jared West, and Hunter Dyess.
