Betty Turnage,  77, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Born on March 11, 1947, in Laurel, Mississippi, Betty was cherished for her deep faith and dedication to her church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Her love for gardening and arts and crafts was well known, and she was admired for her positive outlook on life.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Edward Turnage, her brother Jerry Cox, and her sister Peggy Cox. She leaves behind her daughters, Lora Fischer of Laurel and Nora (Dallas) DeRouen of Florence, Mississippi. She is also survived by her brothers, Jackie Cox of Benndale, MS, Larry Cox of Benndale, MS, David Cox of Lucedale, MS, and Ricky (Lynn) Cox of Laurel, MS. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tawani Clark of Laurel, MS, Jaclyn Love of Picayune, MS, and Lance (Natalie) Dickey of Enterprise, AL, as well as her seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Betty will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at 346 Trace Rd, Laurel, MS, in the Shady Grove Community, officiated by Bro. Jerry Rowley.
