Billie E. Craft, 73 of Laurel, MS passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was born Thursday, February 2, 1950, in Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Spradley Cemetery in Moss, Mississippi.

Billie was a career nurse who worked at South Mississippi State Hospital until its closure.  She then worked at South Central Regional Medical Center until she retired.  She enjoyed working in the OB field most of all.  After retirement, she volunteered at the Good Shepherd Clinic.  She made many friends over the years among the nursing community.  She was a loving mother and grandmother to many.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Bill Poore; brother, Robert Earl Poore.

Survivors include her mother, Irma Spradley Poore; sons, Robert Dwaine Johnson (Sandy) and Jesse Longmire Craft; grandchildren, Nikki Holifield (Malichi), Gerald Shows (Hilary), Morgan King, Magan McCormick (Alec), Halee Johnson, Matt Arnold, and Amelia Cummings; great grandchildren, Sophie Holifield and Baby Holifield; brother, Jim Poore (Faye), and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Malichi Holifield, Walter McIntosh, Dwaine Johnson, Matthew Arnold, Jesse Craft, and Noah Hosey.

Honorary pallbearers will be Halee Johnson.
