Billy Ray "Sonny" Herrington, 78, of Laurel, MS passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Monday, November 26, 1945 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. Burial will follow in Myrick Cemetery. Rev. Ronald Easterling will officiate. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia D. Herrington; father, Robert Huey Herrington Sr.; mother, Pearlie May Fountain Herrington; brother, Robert Huey Herrington Jr.; sisters, Betty Massey, Barbara Martin and Judy Wolgamott.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Cangelosi Herrington; son, Ronald Easterling (Amanda); daughters, Teresa Herrington, Tisha Philly (Bone), Janet Sharp (Tommy) and Jessica Crosby; as well as host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Wolgamott, Tommy Sharp, Alex Sharp, Adam Sharp, Andy Mallett, Chad Sumrall, Steve Hodge, and Brandon Macnaughty.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Philly and Aaron Philly.

Special music will be performed by Clara Mallett.
