Obituary

Celebrating the Life of Brandon Rex Staples

50 Years of Love, Laughter, and Precious Memories

Some people leave a mark on this world in ways that words can never fully describe. Brandon Rex Staples was one of those people.

For 50 years, Brandon brought his own special kind of love, joy, and happiness into the lives of his family and everyone blessed to know him. He may have had special needs, but to those who loved him, Brandon was simply Brandon — one of a kind, irreplaceable, and loved beyond measure.

Brandon had his own little ways of letting everyone know exactly what he wanted. One of his greatest loves was a McDonald’s hot fudge sundae. All it took was spotting those famous Golden Arches, and Brandon’s finger would go straight into his mouth. That was his way of letting everyone know it was time for a sundae! And more often than not, whoever was driving knew they might as well turn around, because Brandon was getting his treat!

He also loved beating bowls on the floor, making his own kind of music and enjoying the simple things that brought him happiness.

Those little moments, the things that were so uniquely Brandon, became some of the biggest memories for the people who loved him.

Brandon taught those around him that love doesn’t always need words, happiness can be found in the simplest things, and sometimes the smallest moments become the memories we treasure most.

His life was a gift, his love was a blessing, and his memory will forever be part of the hearts and lives of those who knew him.

Brandon was preceded in death by his mother Lana June Staples, his maternal grandparents; Rex and Celeste Graham and paternal grandparents Victor and Opal Staples.

Brandon is survived by his father; Jack Staples, sister Shanda Rasberry and brother Trea Staples and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Colonial Chapel of Laurel on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location.
