Bruce Edward Riley, 73, of Stringer, Mississippi, passed away on July 29, 2025. Born June 6, 1952, in Laurel, Mississippi, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Bruce was a 1970 graduate of Stringer Attendance Center in Stringer Mississippi. Following graduation, Bruce married the love of his life, Joanie. He had a long and successful career as a diesel mechanic which began at D&W Motors in Laurel, Mississippi. He then moved on to work at Mustang Caterpillar in Houston, Texas which allowed him to travel the world. Bruce then opened his own shop H&R Services in Cypress, Texas before returning to Mississippi. Back home in Stringer, he worked for Stringer Timber. He then opened his own timber company, River Bend Forest Products, from which he retired in 2022.

He is survived by wife Joanie Riley. Children: Son Brad Riley and wife Nicole of Waller, Texas, Daughter Felicia Riley McCord and husband Vince of Stringer, Mississippi, and son Josh Riley and wife Leanne of Bay Springs, Mississippi. Grandchildren Madison, Kyle, and Bradley Fitzgerald, Spencer Williams, Gracie McCullough, Carson McCord, Bryce and Beck Riley, Isabella Bullock. Great Grandchildren Jake-Henry Fitzgerald, Griff and Asher Williams. Mother Lula Mae Riley, Sister Kathy Ishee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Milford "Buddy" Riley. His grandparents Joe and Katie Riley and Myrtis "Granny" Atkins; brother-in-law, Danny Ishee.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 02, 2025, at 3:0OPM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Moss Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moss, Mississippi. Justin King will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.
