It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Dale "Charlie" Evans, who left this life on September 13, 2025. Born on February 23, 1989, in Laurel, Mississippi, Charlie was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend whose kindness and humor touched everyone around him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his grandparents Dorothy and Curtis Dearman, and Lillian and James Evans.

He is survived by his loving mother, Lisa Funck (James), and father, Larry Evans (LaTrece); his sister, Amanda Dearman Calvin (Dennis); and his brothers, Andy Funck (Tori), Chad Evans (Rebekah), Zachary Evans, and Austin Jernigan. Charlie shared a special bond with his aunt, Loretta Poolson, and with his nephew, Andrew Joseph Funck, both of whom held a cherished place in his heart. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews: Andrew Funck, Cameron Poolson, Madison Funck, Leah Dearman, Benny Funck, Ricky Kepley III, Jadence Lott, Mattie Evans, Jett Evans, and Aeverly Funck. In addition, he is remembered by his aunts and uncles: Shiela and Grady Clark, David Walters, Anita Walters, Kim Pugh, and Glenda Walters, Becky Evans, Robert Evans, Charles Evans, Mary Evans, Richard Evans, as well as a host of other extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward.

Charlie will be remembered for his big heart, warm smile, and the way he could brighten any room with laughter. His love for family and the strong connections he built with those closest to him will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

Pallbearers will be Andy Funck, Chad Evans, Zachary Evans, Austin Jernigan, Andrew Funck, Cameron Poolson, Jason Clark, and Larry Walters.

A service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. Burial will follow in Moselle Memorial Gardens in Moselle, Ms. Bro. Drake Ferguson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.

Though he is gone far too soon, Charlie's memory will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
