Member of Trinity Baptist Church, Laurel. Retired office manager of Laurel Pediatric Clinic. (She went to work there for 6 weeks to open the office and went home 28 years later.)

Loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survived by husband of over 68 years Harry Steele, son Eddie (Robin) Steele, son Bobby Steele, daughter Terri (Joey) Ulmer.

Grandchildren: Allison (Al) Scaperotto, Jessica (Chad) Thompson, Stephanie (Dwane) Mayo, Justin (Alicia) Ulmer, Marleigh (Cody) Rayner, Skylar (Colton) Williamson, Dalton (Kayla Jo) Steele.

Great grandchildren: Jack, Daniel, and Kaitlyn Scaperotto, Cole and Ethan Thompson, Zachary and Jared Mayo, Parker and Madi Rayner and Major Ulmer, Canton Williamson, Carter Williamson and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents

Ed and Bonnie Blackwell, sisters and brothers in law Beverly (Gerald) Wright and Gloria (Ronnie) Johnson.

Graveside services will follow on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 10:00AM at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS.
