Dale Thornton, 57, of Laurel, MS passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Wednesday, October 6, 1965 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Big Creek Baptist Church on 28 Big Creek Church Rd. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Big Creek Baptist Church. The burial will follow in Big Creek Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Bro. Scott Stringer will officiate. Dale was a devout Master Mason at Fuller Lodge #515 and Ellisville Lodge #161. He was also a member of MMST. Dale was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and grilling. He loved spending time with family and friends. Dale was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Thornton.

Survivors include his son, Jack Thornton (Bethany); father, Donice Thornton; brother, Danny Thornton (Jennifer); sister, Dee Dee Meunier (Roger); grandson, Easton Thornton; granddaughter, Brayleigh Thornton; nieces, Amberlee Mozingo, Sadie Mozingo, Laken Thornton; nephews, Skyler Pippen, Noah Thornton; as well as a special niece Karleigh Davis.

Pallbearers will be Ashley Davis, Bear Loper, Matt Sumrall, Channing Parker, Jason Jefcoat, and Jason Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Knight, Gerald Griffin, Skyler Pippen, and Noah Thornton.
