Obituary

Dale Wilson, 82 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his residence in Taylorsville, MS. He was born Monday, February 24, 1941, in Anna, Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel at 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Rev. Joshua Pierce, Pastor of Antioch United Pentecostal Church will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.

Dale loved people and always thought of others before himself. He enjoyed serving his community in years past. He loved his God first and foremost; he loved studying the Word of God. For approximately 2 years, he could not read due to cataracts, but after having surgery, his first comments were, "Now I can study my Bible again". He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Fred R. Wilson; mother, Frances Elizabeth Hale Wilson; brother, Lindy Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gloria Jones Wilson; sons, Rev. Stanley Wilson (Tonya) and Michael Wilson; daughter, Darla Raynes (Allen); grandchildren, Tamara Wilson, Alicia Ducksworth (Jay), Benjamin Wilson (Brooke), Hannah Breland (Jordan), Kylee Raynes, Noah Raynes and Avery Raynes; brother, Jack Wilson (Jean); great grandchildren, Gracelyn Breland, Luca Ducksworth, Koda Ducksworth, Mera Ducksworth, Conner Wilson and Grant Wilson; sister-in-law, Sharon Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Rev. Stanley Wilson, Michael Wilson, Noah Raynes, Benjamin Wilson, Jordan Breland, and Jay Ducksworth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Raynes and Rev. David Speed.
