Daniel Ellis Knight, aged 50, of Ovett, MS, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Lucedale, MS. Born on August 2, 1974, in Laurel, Mississippi, Daniel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and best friend. He was an active singer and guitar player in his church, and he cherished his time spent squirrel hunting, fishing, and enjoying 18-wheeler trucks. A devout Christian, Daniel professed his love for Jesus throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving parents, Ellis C. and Helen Diann Parker Knight, and his brother, Dwayne Knight, along with his sister-in-law Angie. Daniel was a cherished uncle to his nephews, Ethan Daniel Knight, Colton Ryan Knight, Brandon Louis Muirhead, and Austin Emory Muirhead, and his niece, Kylee Ann Knight; dear friend, Claudia Gainey and cousin, Bryan Yarbrough He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Ellis and Margaret Lee Knight, and James Daniel and Dorothy Marie Shoemake Parker.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Glade Landmark Faithway Missionary Baptist Church, located at 41 Bush Road in Laurel, MS. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, officiated by Bro. Greg Richardson. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
