Daniel Joe Knotts, 36, of Soso, MS passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, in Taylorsville, MS. He was born Monday, August 24, 1987 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 Pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. The burial will follow in Victory Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Daniel was known affectionately by his friends as "Coon". He was a devoted father and a great friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a volunteer for several years at the Hebron Fire Department. Coon was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gena Mallett; brother, Paul Ray Sumrall, Jr.; sister, Karen Knotts; grandparents, James and Ethel Knotts.

Survivors include his son, Carson Knotts; father, Tommy Knotts, Sr.; brothers, Joe Knotts, Jr.  (Rodia), Jonathan Mallett; sister, Melissa Sumrall; nephew, Jared Knotts; niece, Sydney Knotts; and a special friend, Jessica Easterling.

Pallbearers will be Jared Knotts, Dalton Goddard, Jim Knotts, Zack Livingston, Jacob Smith, and Milton Loper.

Honorary pallbearer will be Pinky Knotts.
