Danny Merile Byrd (77 years old), fondly known as Daddy and Papaw, gained his heavenly wings on September 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to Milton and Gladys Byrd on June 16, 1947.

He held many titles during his lifetime: father, grandfather, uncle, brother, son, entrepreneur, self-made man, business owner and founder of Danny Byrd Inc., mentor, and follower of Christ, all of which he fulfilled with his whole heart. If you spent any time with Danny, you know how intently he loved his family and his Lord Jesus Christ. Danny was a devoted husband of 57 years to his wife, Barbara Byrd, with whom he built a beautiful family.

In honor and celebration of Danny's beautiful life, Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 9:30AM until 11:00AM at Life Church in Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00AM at Life Church in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. David Hagan and Bro. Josh Fletcher will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ken Byrd; father, Milton Byrd; mother, Gladys Jones Byrd; brother, Greg Byrd; brother-in-law, Roy Gunter.

His loving spirit was evident to all, and his legacy will be carried on by his family who he cherished so deeply. Danny is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Byrd; siblings, Phillip Byrd (Mildred), Ronnie Byrd (Linda), and Pamela Gunter (Roy); sons, Kristopher Ryan Byrd and Kevin Daniel Byrd; daughter-in-law, Carrie Byrd (Ken); grandchildren, Justin Blake Byrd, Makenzie Byrd Coleman (Hunter), Darby Ryan Byrd, Noah Byrd, Grant Daniel Byrd, Miley Christina Byrd, Nathan Daniel Byrd, and Chelsey Roney Smith (Keyon); great grandchildren, Isabelle Grace Byrd, Rivers Jude Byrd, Kendal Harvey, and Kaleb Myrick; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Pallbearers will be Justin Byrd, Grant Byrd, Jonathan Byrd, Hunter Coleman, David Byrd, Ernesto Lopez, and Hunter Byrd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Byrd and Noah Byrd.
