Don Crocker, 97, of Laurel, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Covington County Hospital in Collins, MS. He was born Monday, September 29, 1924, in Laurel, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Salem Heights Baptist Church in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM. The burial to follow in Lake Park Hills Cemetery. Bro. Brent Benson and Bro. Troy Hobson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. (601) 649-3342.
Don was a soul winner. He loved serving the Lord in a variety of ways. He taught Sunday School for over thirty years. Don was also a Gideon. He served as the state President of the Gideons for many years. Don was also an entrepreneur. He was half owner of Crocker's on the Hill and Dixieland Dodge. Don also loved his country and served in the Navy during World War 2.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Crocker, his parents, Jimmy and Irene Crocker, his son-in-law, Freddie Meador, his step-son, Ricky Carter and his brothers, James Crocker, Max Crocker and Charlie Crocker.
Survivors include his son, Ronny Crocker (Jan), his daughter, Jan Meador, his step-sons, Van Carter (Shirley), Billy Carter, his stepdaughter-in-law, Marilyn Carter, grandsons, Nathan Crocker (Hope), Brent Crocker (Denise), Alan Carter, Ryan Carter (Amanda), his granddaughters, Dr. Karen Crocker, Amy Beard (Barry), Wendy Price (Luke), Casey Graves (Justin), 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren, his brothers, Billy Crocker and Hal Crocker and one sister, Melba Thornton.
Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Pickering, Roy Ward and Rev. Johnny Bryant.
