Donice Lee McCraney of Laurel, MS, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born on October 14, 1962, in Laurel, MS.

He lived and worked in Alabama at Alabama Power for 33 years. In his free time he enjoyed tinkering with classic cars and coaching soccer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Harold and Myra Annell McCraney, and his uncle and aunt Rupert and Lora Bell Arden.

He leaves behind his wife of 39 years Cathy Renee McCraney, sons, William Ian McCraney, Zackary Lee McCraney, siblings, Claude R. McCraney (Susan), Joey McCraney (Iris), and Jeffery McCraney (Wendy), and Tammy McCraney and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved in his own special way.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location, with burial at Sharon Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Chris Floyd will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS.

Pallbearers will be William Ian McCraney, Zackary Lee McCraney, Tyler McCraney, Christopher Joiner, Micheal McCraney, and Corey Joiner.
