Donice Wayne Thornton

Donice Wayne Thornton, 86, of Pachuta, MS, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born on October 7, 1940, in Laurel, MS.

Don enjoyed the outdoors and building motors and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Alice Thornton; father, Shelby Aubrey Thornton; mother, Gertrude Arlene Gordon; son, Dale Thornton; brothers, Rod Thornton, Ray Thornton.

He is survived by his loving family, including his daughter, DeeDee Meunier (Roger); son, Danny Thornton (Jennifer); grandchildren, Skyler Pippen (Anevay Gaines), Noah Thornton (Karlee), Laken Thornton, Amberlee Mozingo and Sadie Mozingo; great-grandson, Sawyer Thornton; brother, Randy Gordon; close friend, Keith Blackledge.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS.
