Dorothy Dearman, also known as Grandma, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, in Laurel, Mississippi, at the age of 86. She was born on June 27, 1937, in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel at 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS., with services following. Burial will follow in Moselle Memorial Gardens in Moselle, Mississippi. Bro. Curtis Pitts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.

Dorothy Dearman will be remembered as a devoted servant to God, always exemplifying her love for the Lord. Her family held a special place in her heart and was known for her kindness and love towards them. Dorothy's biscuits and pancakes kept the aroma of her house sweet and warm. They were a symbol of the love she showed to her family. She always had food ready to give. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, a love for people and a love for Jesus.

Survived by: Son, David Walters, and her three daughters, Sheila Clark (Grady), Lisa Funck, and Loretta Poolson, three special daughter-in-laws, Anita Walters, Glenda Walters and Kim Pugh. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
