Edith L. Edie Stringer, 76, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away from this earth and joined our Lord on Friday, January 4, 2019. She was born June 9, 1942, in Louin, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi, with funeral services following at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Clear Creek Cemetery. Bro. Gary Robertson, Bro. Sidney Davis and Bro. Scott Griffin will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar James Grayson and Vera Blanche Grayson; brother, James Grayson; and her husband, Charles Ray Stringer.
Survivors include her son, Todd Stringer, his wife, Lindsey Stringer, and granddaughter, Scarlett Ann Stringer; siblings, Joyce Clarke, Billy Grayson (Geraldine), Carolyn Massey Gaines (John); sister-in-law, Rosemond Grayson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles Ray and Edie Stringer married on June 4, 1966, and celebrated 49 years of marriage prior to Charles Ray's death on December 13, 2015. She was retired from Southern Pine Electric, where she worked for approximately 45 years. She was also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and attended faithfully. She enjoyed her outings with the Pinecones and her buds.
Her newest love was her granddaughter, Scarlett, born October 22, 2018. She spent one of the days preceding her death holding Scarlett all day and we know that she is telling Charles Ray all about their granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Keith King, Joel Rogers, Neil Murphy, Tom Massey, Donald Grayson, and Rick Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Keith Murphy and Glenn Bond.
