Obituary

Emerlynn Renae Welch was born sleeping to her parents Megan (Yarbrough) and Kendall Welch. She was loved so much by all of her family and they were so excited for her arrival but God had bigger plans for her life.

She will remain in everyone's hearts and her memory will live through her family forever. God tells us the preciousness of human life (Exodus 20:13, Psalm 139:13-16) and Jesus acknowledged our value over all creation (Matthew 6:26). Not only are we uniquely formed, but you and I are made in the image of God. May our baby girl rest in peace in the arms of Jesus and her loved ones who passed before her that greeted her in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother; Karen Laird, great-grandmother Lanita; Kaye Smith; aunt, Rylee Rhiannon Welch, great-grandfathers; Gerald Wayne Welch and James Owen Laird Jr., great-grandmother; Shirley Miller, and her great uncle; Jason Maxey.

Emerlynn was survived by siblings; Silas Welch, Oaklynn Yarbrough, River Yarbrough, and Kassidy Welch, grandparents; David and Marla Welch, Stephanie and Starling Buckley, and Marty Merrell, great-grandmothers; Dina Taylor and Judy Laird as well as a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on 4593 Indian Springs Road. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. The burial will then take place in Big Creek Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342
