Frances Evelyn Anderson, affectionately known as Franny, passed away at the age of 84 on February 11, 2025, at the Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on September 11, 1940, in Bay Springs, Mississippi, Franny was a vibrant and fashionable woman who cherished her family above all else.

Frances was a devoted mother to her daughters Regina Jefcoat (Tim), Tonya Anderson (Steve), and Denise Ricketson, and a proud grandmother to her grandchildren Jessica Guy (Rick), Sabrina Reid (Daniel), Jonathan Duckworth (Natalie), Sadie Ricketson, Ashli Wolf (Dave), Wendy Slay, Josh Anderson (Mandy), and Kayla Sherman (Ollis). She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren; Faith Guy, Jacey Guy, Reese Duckworth, Brooklyn Reid, Jax Duckworth, Addalyn Reid, Axl Duckworth, Joseph Wolf, Ava Wolf, Webb Slay, Linton Slay, ShieAnn Slay, Callie Anderson, Bryce Anderson, Blaine Sherman and Izzy Sherman. She is also survived by her brothers; Fred McCarty and Arthur McCarty; special friends, Dana Holifield (Connie) and Scott Ulmer (Julie) and a host of precious nieces, nephews, cousin, friends and her Moss First Church of God family.

Known for her love of life, Franny enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was cutting grass, going to the beach, or swimming. She was a spirited supporter at her grandchildren's ballgames and took great pride in her granddaughter's service in the Air Force. Franny's sense of humor and love for pranks endeared her to her family and friends, making her the cherished backbone of her family.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J. C. Anderson, her parents Allen and Leora Browning McCarty, her sister Mary Carpenter, father-in-law, L. V. Anderson, mother-in-law, Eva Anderson, brothers-in-law, J. Burl Ishee and Roy Anderson; sisters-in-law, Irene Ishee and Barbara McCarty.

Visitation will be held on February 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, 4593 Indian Springs Road. Funeral services will take place on February 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location, followed by burial at Moss Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moss, Mississippi. Bro. Paul Matte will officiate the services.

Pallbearers will be Rick Guy, Daniel Reid, Jonathan Duckworth, Garrick McCarty, Chad McCarty, and Scott Ulmer.

Franny's legacy of love, laughter, and family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
