Frances Janelle Hutchinson, 69, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Born on October 30, 1955, in Laurel, Mississippi, Fran was a beloved member of her community and family.

Fran was known for her love of crocheting, especially making hats for the children of Ronald McDonald House. Her home was a welcoming place for all, reflecting her generous spirit and love for her family. She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Mike Hutchinson, her son Tony Hutchinson, and her daughter Jessica Hutchinson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brinson Hutchinson, Bridgette Hutchinson, Bailey Harris (Landon), Kanyen Hutchinson, Olivia Hutchinson, Raylen Hutchinson, and LoxleyAnn Hutchinson, as well as her great-grandchildren: Anthony Clark, Vai-lee Bourg, Sylas Harris, and Kailani Ruiz. She is also survived by her brothers, Larry Smith (Nancy) and Jerry Smith, aunt, Janet Smith along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Brinson and Pansy Sibley Smith, her brother Richard Smith, her sister Phyliss Smith, and her sister-in-law Diane Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location, officiated by Bro. Stanley Beech and Bro. Jamie Altman. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
