Garland "Bo" Atwood, Jr., 78 of Laurel, MS passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Monday, July 15, 1946, in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 3:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Bro. Danny Stringer will officiate. Bo enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved riding the lawn mower around the neighborhood as well as going to work at the feed store. Always there for friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Atwood, Sr.; mother, Margaret Alice Foster Atwood; sister, Peggy Jones; niece, Pamela Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sybil Matthews Atwood; daughters, Stephanie Jordan (Patrick) and Kim Lee; brother, Charles "Butch" Atwood (Judy); grandchildren, Kayla Jordan, Virginia Jordan, Robert Jordan and Trinity Lee; and host of nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Merritt Jones; sister-in-law, Susan Newsome.
