Gary Files, 77 of Laurel, MS passed away Friday, January 19, 2024, at his residence in Laurel, MS. He was born Tuesday, January 14, 1947, in Meridian, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Union Line Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Bro. Gary loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his church family at Temple Baptist Church in Laurel. He retired from Halliburton Services after 32 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Laverette Files; mother, Sybil Ridout Files; brother, Billy Francis Files.

Survivors include his wife, Paulette Matthews Files; son, Billy Files (Sandy); daughter, Lisa Parker (Tommy); grandchildren, Emily Parker West (Hayden), Dalton Files (Callie) and Bailey Parker; great-grandchildren, Paisley West, Walker West and Caroline West; sister, Linda Gail Buchanan (James); brothers, Jr Files (Kay), Paul Files (Judy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Billy Land, Gary Matthews, Glenn Caves, Hayden West, Ricky Hull, Scott Carmichael, and Wayne Price.

Honorary pallbearers will be Men's Sunday School at Temple Baptist Church.
