Gloria Jean Craven, 82, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at her residence. Born on September 8, 1942, in Jones County, Mississippi, Gloria dedicated her life to caring for others and was a beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt.

She is survived by her loving husband, Carl Craven Sr., her son Carl Craven Jr., and her daughter Charlotte Ezell and her husband David. Gloria was a proud grandmother to Latasha Kilpatrick and her husband Brad, Chad Mann, Carrie Robinson and her husband Chris, Clinton Craven, Anna Cooley and her husband Jimmy, and Nicholas Craven. She also leaves behind her sister Bennie Rogers, 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her son Richard Craven, her parents Roger Earl Melton and Evelyn Lewis Sumrall, her brothers Howell Earl Melton, Jerry Melton, and Ray Melton, and her sisters Jeanone Rayner and Sue Fenton McClain.
