Obituary

Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of Grady Alexander "Alex" May to his eternal home on August 28 th, 2025. Those who knew Alex will remember the kindness and love he brought to those around him. His smile, laughter and sense of humor was infectious, and we are all better for having Alex in our lives. He had a way of making everyone feel welcomed, valued and loved.

Alex was born on January 17 th, 1990 to loving parents Randy and Elizabeth May. He grew up in Laurel, MS and was a 2008 graduate of Northeast Jones High School. For most of his adult life, Alex lived in Columbus, MS with his wife Ashton. He was employed by Knight Environmental Services.

More than anything, Alex treasured his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Ashton Goodin May. Alex and Ashton lived a life full of selflessness and compassion for others. Their faith was evident in the way they lifted others up and always offered a hand to anyone in need. Their home was always open and grace and encouragement was readily extended to those around them. Their legacy of service was inspiring.

Alex also leaves behind a son, Oliver May, who he was immensely proud of. Alex cherished every moment of laughter, every conversation and all the time they spent together. Alex's greatest joy and biggest achievement was being Oliver's dad, and Oliver was the light of Alex's life.

Alex also leaves behind his father, Randy May, his mother, Elizabeth Thames May, his sister, Alaina May and his grandfather, Grady Rolland May. Alex was preceded in death by grandparents Elton and Elaine Thames and Mary Helen May.

While we will deeply miss Alex, we find peace knowing that Alex in is God's care and resting peacefully in His eternal embrace and that we will see him again.
