Hazel H. Knight, 100, of Soso, MS, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on February 15, 1925, in Jones County, Mississippi, Hazel lived a long and fulfilling life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Arnold Knight, and her son, Rev. Randall A. Knight. She was also predeceased by her parents, Andrew 'Tim' Holifield, Sr. and Maudie Parker Holifield, her brothers Andrew Tim 'Buddy' Holifield, Jr. and L. Hilman Holifield, her sisters Jeweline Windham and Myrtle Lee Dykes, and her grandsons William Overstreet and Chris Knight.

Hazel is survived by her son, Rev. Dennis Knight and his wife Jean of Wiggins, MS, and her daughter, Sheila Overstreet and her husband Wayne. She leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Charles Overstreet, Dianna Williams and her husband Charles, Angela Givens and her husband Stephen, Denise DeVaughn and her husband George, Regina Knight, and Dana Knight. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Holifield and his wife Vickie, as well as 14 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Holifield, Wayne Windham, Charles Williams, Stephen Givens, Caleb DeVaughn, and Charles Overstreet.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Berean Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MS. Bro. Harold Floyd and Bro. Dale Broom will officiate the services. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
