Obituary

James Herman McKee, 88, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Friday, October 11, 2019 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Tuesday, May 5, 1931 in Newton, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville and burial will follow in Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Charles Ray Burnham will officiate.

Following his service in the US Air Force, he started his career as a sewing machine mechanic. He worked his way up to Executive Vice President of Arnold/Magee Apparel Manufacturing Company, Magee, Mississippi. Herman was a Master Mason for almost 60 years and a former President of the Laurel Shrine Club. He was one of the founding fathers of McVay Hunting Club where he loved hunting, fishing, gardening and being on "that tractor". His efforts are one of the leading reasons the club is in existence today.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Leon and Mary Elizabeth Lizzie' McKee, sister, Jean Thrash, son, Keith McKee and step son, Dodie Blakeney.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Annis McKee, son, Billy Wayne McKee Sr. (Bonnie), daughter, Teressa Lloyd (Scott), son, James Michael McKee, daughter, Stephanie Brewer (Billy), Kristy Meacham, son, Brett Anderson (Lyndsi), daughter, Lindsey Robinson (Josh), grandchildren, Christy Lipe (Eric), Missy McDowell (Scott), Billy McKee Jr. (April), Naomi Muffuletto (Beau), Isaac Brewer (Kimberly), Ryan Brewer, Brianna Brewer, Payton Meacham, Kaylee Meacham, Allie Meacham, Logan McLendon, Preston Anderson, Presleigh Anderson, Pinleigh Anderson, Chloe Robinson, great-grandchildren, Michael McKee, Wesley Lipe, Chase Lipe, Gunner McKee, Kinley McKee, Aiden McDowell, Russo Muffuletto, brother, Leon Marcell McKee (Betty), daughter-in-law, Karen Blakeney.

Pallbearers will be Billy McKee Jr., Brett Anderson, Josh Robinson, Isaac Brewer, Ryan Brewer and Scott McDowell.
