Howard Wayne Garner, 63, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Taylorsville, Mississippi. He was born Monday, August 8, 1955 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 24, 2018 from11:30 AM until 12:30PM at the Unity Methodist Church in the Center Ridge Community of Smith County with funeral services to follow at 12:30 PM in the church. Burial will follow in Unity Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Martin will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. (601) 785-6564

Wayne was a true outdoorsman-happiest when he was in nature. He loved fishing, riding the four-wheeler and spending time with his grandchildren. Wayne was a proud "Poppa" at their sports games, pageants and dance recitals. His big heart was one-of-a- kind, and he will be missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Trudy P. Garner; parents, Jimmie Charles and Jerry Garner and brothers, Jimmy Lynn Garner and Eddy Garner.

Survivors include his children, Pridgett Presley (Steven), Madison, MS; Michael Garner, Taylorsville, MS, Justin Porter, North Augusta, SC and Tiffany Cantrell, Vernon, AL; grandchildren, Cody Presley, Lydia Presley, Haley Porter, Ryan Porter, Jayden Jimenez, Trinity Jimenez, Lyric Cantrell and Brody Porter; sisters, Carolyn Stringer (Ron) and Joy King (Mark) and sister-in-law, Faye Martin (Jeff).

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
