Ivon Janet Hollingsworth-Hill, the beloved heart of five generations of family, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the age of 93, at the St. Joseph Hospice in Gulfport, MS with her family by her side. She was born on Tuesday, March 1, 1932, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Ivon's life was a beautiful expression of love, warmth and joy that wrapped everyone around her in a cozy embrace.

In 1954, Ivon and Marlon made their home in Long Beach, Mississippi, for 37 years until his death, where they raised their five children. Ivon's boundless love stretched across generations, touching the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Hannah Ladnier; her brother, Oliver 'Laddie' Ladnier; her first husband, Marlon Hollingsworth – father of her children, and by her second husband, Robert Hill, who embraced and loved her family as his own, and her granddaughter, Nancy Hollingsworth, and grandson, Donny Holliman.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Hollingsworth and Ray Hollingsworth (LouDon); daughters, Marlene Lassabe (Vic), Jan Dykes (James), and Lynn Strickland; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Vicki Broadus, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Through the years, Ivon had many interests and hobbies, but her family gave her the most joy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi. Dr. Kevin Shearer and Bro. Wesley Martin will officiate.
