James A. Matthews, 84 of Laurel, MS passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. He was born Sunday, January 23, 1938 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Laurel in Laurel. MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Laurel in Laurel, MS. Burial will follow in Matthews Cemetery in Laurel, Mississippi. Bro. Survivors include his daughters, Patsy Shoemaker (Reggie), Rita Morse, Margaret Smith, Gail Thompson, Bonnie Cooley, Johanna Bowling (Allen), Linda Rogde (Chris), Donna Smith (Marcus), 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
