Jane Yelverton May, 78, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 18, 2026, at South Central Regional Medical Center. She was born on January 4, 1948 in Laurel, MS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James May; parents, William Benjamin and Lorraine Yelverton; sisters, Eloise Cooley, Kathy Barber; brothers, Joe Yelverton, Danny Ray Yelverton.

She is survived by her loving family, including brothers, Donald Yelverton, David Yelverton, sisters, Sandra Jones (Doyle), Judy Fant and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.
