It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jaqueline Shea Keene, known fondly
as Shea Baby. Shea peacefully passed away on the morning of May 27, 2024, surrounded by
her beloved family at home.
Born on June 20, 1979, in Laurel, Mississippi, Shea had a profound love for music and art all
her life. Graduating from Northeast Jones High School in 2000, she was admired for her
vibrant spirit, affection for people, and her enthusiasm for dancing at every gathering she
attended. Shea's generosity, insight, and enduring love will always be treasured by her family
and friends.
Shea is survived by her sister, Blaine Anderson and her brother-in-law Patrick; nieces Madison
and Marlie Anderson; Aunt, Lana Myers (Cecil); Uncle, Sidney Rhea Hughes II; Uncle, John
Hughes (Jan); Aunt, Lacy Hodges (Adam); cousins, Clint and Chase Myers, John Ethan Hughes
(Cassidy), Turner Hughes, Mary Claire Hughes, Will Hodges, and Dixie Lei Shoemake (Bryce);
and close friends Jennifer Bullard, Melinda Manning, Casey Russell, Amber Pullium, and Tye
Williamson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Blaine Keene; mother, Elizabeth "Libby" Keene;
and grandparents, Sidney Rhea I and Joyce Hughes, Jasper and Margaret Keene.
A celebration of Shea's life will be held on May 31, 2024, at Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be
held from 9:30-11:00 AM, followed by a service where loved ones will gather to honor her
memory. Attendees are kindly asked to wear pink in her honor.
Jaqueline Shea Keene will forever be remembered for her gentle nature, artistic flair, and
boundless love for her family and friends and her devotion to her church, Bethal Baptist.
Shea touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will endure in our hearts
eternally. Rest peacefully, dear Shea.
