Jerry B. Watkins, aged 88, of Laurel, MS, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on January 18, 1936, in Gitano, Mississippi, Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family deeply.

Jerry enjoyed a long career at Masonite in Laurel before retiring. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending several years stationed in Korea. A dedicated Mason, Jerry also had a passion for woodworking and beekeeping.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Runnels Watkins; sons, Dennis Anderson, Terry Anderson, and Reggie Kennedy (Theresa); daughter, Paula Kennedy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Carter and Lucy Strange Watkins; brothers, Charles and Joe Mike Watkins; and sisters, Lucille Spence and Myrtle Nix.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location, with Bro. Malcom Byrd officiating. Burial will take place at Harmony Cemetery in Mize, MS.
