Jimmie O'Nell Dunagin, 82 of Laurel, MS passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer, at Lynnwood Assisted Living in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, January 9, 1941 in Waynesboro, MS to Jim Frank Gray and Gladys Smith Gray Beard.

She was an active member of Pineview Baptist Church, where she served on multiple church committees.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel at 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery on 184 East in Laurel, Mississippi.

Rev. Danny Stringer will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. 601-649-3342.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dunagin; father, Jim Frank Gray; mother, Gladys Gray Smith Beard (Step Father, Mabry); step-son, Dale Dunagin, infant brother, Jeffie Gene Gray and Ollie Beard.

Survivors include her son, Joey Cooley of Laurel; daughter, Angela Cooley Powell of Petal; Step-son, Wayne Dunagin; grandchildren, Justin Cooley (Jana), Katelyn Harris (Clint), Cindy Dunagin, Ashley Rayner (John), Adam Dunagin, Chad Napier, Lakin Sullivan (Blake), and Kristin Sullivan (Ross); brother, Herky Beard (Evelyn); sister, Dorothy Parker; great grandchildren, Cooper Cooley, Avery Cooley, Emmaline Cooley, Cash Harris, Kolton Harris, Mabry Gray Sullivan, Tyler Rayner (Ashlynn), Jakub Rayner, Conner Rayner, Abagale Rayner, Vera Catherine Sullivan, and Mr. Joe Jennings, a special friend, along with his family.

Pallbearers will be Nick Wooten, Jason Creel, Ross Sullivan, Robert Parker, Mark Beard, and Clint Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Wooten, Sylvester Busby, Michael Walker, Bill Culpepper, and Richard Herring.
