John Raymond Alburn, 78, of Stringer, Mississippi, died Monday, February 11th, 2019 at Veterans Home in Collins in Collins, Mississippi. He was born Friday, May 24, 1940 in Yonkers, New York.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel and the Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. John served in the Marine Corp for 10 years and later retired from the Army National Guard. He was in Vietnam while he served in the US Marines and while in the Army National Guard he served in Desert Storm.

He was preceded in death by Joan Eleanor Alburn (Wife), Edward Alburn (Father), Adelaide Alburn (Mother), Jon Alburn (Son).

Survivors include Kim Smith (Daughter), Tom Alburn (Brother), Sarah L. Smith (Granddaughter), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jason Alburn, Steven Butler, Neil Brewer, Dale Sumrall, Sam Sumrall and Van Sumrall.

Honorary Pallbearer will be David Sumrall.
