Johnnie Merle Gambrell, 85, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at her home. She was born Friday, April 13, 1934 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Taylorsville United Methodist Church and the Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Johnnie was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. She loved her family, friends and church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Gambrell , parents, James Q. 'Short' and Onnie Mae Boykin, children, Cynthia Evans and Dale Glenn.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Stringer (Keith), Gigi Welch, grandchildren; Chanda Walker, Tanya Stringer, Josh Stringer (Jessica), Rook Welch, Randall Evans (Nicole), Rafe Welch, great-grandchildren, Zach Walker, Alana Walker, Chase Evans, Kennedy Evans, Grayson Stringer, Cullen Stringer, Caroline Stringer, sister, Edith Blakeney, brother, Jimmy Boykin (Debbie).

Pallbearers will be Zach Walker, Ethan Blakeney, Josh Blakeney, Tucker Boykin, Todd Boykin, and Brian Sullivan.
