Rev. Johnny Joe Mullinax, 83, of Stringer, Mississippi, passed away Friday, April 20th, 2018 at Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. He was born Sunday, May 13, 1934 in Lincoln, Alabama.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel in Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, Bro. Mullinax will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM with funeral services at 2:00 PM at Moss First Church of God in Moss, MS. Burial will follow in Bufkin Family Cemetery in Stringer, MS. Bro. Kevin Williamson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. (601) 649-3342.

Rev. Mullinax had a heart for service, ministering all over Al, TX, MO, and MS, from 1951 to 2016, over 67 years. He loved his family, his church family and gardening. He would always share from his garden, fresh vegetables with his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Mullinax ; mother, Bessie Mulinax; brothers, Jim Mullinax and Sammy Mullinax; Son- In-Law, Sonny Bufkin.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Helen Mullinax; daughter, Betty Bufkin, son, Johnny Mullinax (Sara), son, Chris Mullinax (Donna), 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great-grandchildren, and 8 Great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Bufkin, Johnathan Bufkin, Scooter Mullinax, Dalton Bufkin, Ricky Clark, and Allen Gaddis.

Honorary pallbearers will be David McLaurin, Jerry Bridges, Justin Welborn, and Tyler Stephens.
