Joye Lynn Butler, 77 of Laurel, MS quietly step away from her earthly home into the Kingdom of Heaven where she was greeted by her heavenly father on Monday, January 27, 2025 in Laurel, MS.  She was born February 9, 1947, in Independence, Missouri. Joye was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grand mother and a friend to everyone she met. Joye had many talents that include, artistic, creative, musical and her most gifted talent was she always seen the good in people and let them know each one was special to her. She would always try to create a memory to review each cherished person she met. The extra mile and extra work would always be given to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They always knew mama or granny could pretty much fix anything with her love, prayer, and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony E. Butler; her father Lynn F Arendt; her mother Georgia B Duncan Arendt, and her sister America Bernadine Callahan.

Joye is survived by her daughter Becky Melton-Reeves and husband Billy, son Scott Hutchinson and wife Amy. Her grandchildren, Kenneth Melton, Susan Melton Hutchinson and her husband Chris, Jacob Melton, Brandon Hutchinson and his wife Tiffany, Meaghan Byrd and her husband Matt, Bryan Hutchinson, and Brent Hutchinson; her brother Jim Arendt and wife Barbara; and her great-grandchildren, Kayelynn Hutchinson , Abbigail Hutchinson, and Emma Hutchinson.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Soso, MS will burial to follow. Pastor Kevin Ulmer will officiate the services with Chris and Twyla Floyd providing special music.

Arrangements are provided by Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel.

Pallbearers will include Zachary Cook, Chris Hutchinson, Noah Ulmer, James Smith, and Jacob Melton
