June Colleen Howze's Obituary
June Colleen Howze, 83, of Laurel, Mississippi, died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, May 16, 1936 in Laurel, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel and the Burial will follow in Our Home Cemetery. Bro. Brandon Wilson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements. (601) 649-3342
Our Mom had a True Love for our Lord and his word. She read her Bible beginning to end several times. Mom was a loving Grandmother. She was considered the "fun" babysitter in her grandkids eyes when keeping them after school and summers. Also her grandnieces and grandnephews when they were sick and unable to attend school. They all remember Tam for her many games of Go Fish and Trouble they played frequently along with her sandwiches and great snacks. She also loved being outdoors and working in her yard.
Our Mom was also a true "Rock Star" to our family with her talents and for anyone who ever heard her play piano. These words do not do her justice however are ones which come to mind - amazing, so talented, unbelievable renditions, playing chords no one else plays. She played by ear and OH what an ear she had. Music was the glue for our family. In the early years we gathered - taking turns going to a different family member's home for a jam session each weekend. Memories our family will treasure always. We know Mom is having a BIG jam session in the sky with our family who were in Heaven already.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howze, parents, James Carl and Wilma Whatley, brother, Fred Whatley.
Survivors include her daughters, Coni Lankowski (Joe), Shauna Laird (Kevin), step-sons, Brian Howze (Shelly), Michael Howze, grandchildren; Jacob Boleware (Amber), Justin Boleware (Katie), Caitlyn Lankowski, Joseph Lankowski, Autumn Laird, great-grandchildren; Conner, Colleen and Caydee Boleware, Katherine June Boleware, brother Phil Whatley (Diane), sister, Karen Hearn (Sandy).
Pallbearers will be Jacob Boleware, Justin Boleware, Joseph Lankowski, Sandy Hearn, Kevin Laird, and Jordan Taylor.
