Kenneth “Dale” Murphy, 64, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at his residence. He was born on January 6, 1962, in Laurel, MS.

Dale served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a hairdresser for over 46 years in Jasper and Jones County. Dale’s legacy of love, laughter and service will live on in the hearts of his family and the communities he touched for decades.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Kenneth and Sara Lois Murphy.

He leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Tina Murphy and children they shared together, Dr. Zachary Kenneth Murphy (Trichi), Bryce Camden Murphy, Lauren Scott (Grant), Katelyn Bryant (Landon); grandchildren, Kenneth Clark Murphy, Sara Lillie Murphy, Charlie Guy Bryant, Sadie Kate Scott and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM at the same location, with burial at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro Jamie Altman and Bro. Keith Murphy will officiate. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS.

Pallbearers will be Rod Miller, David Pittman, Grant Scott, Landon Bryant, Dawson Pittman, and Zachary Pittman.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
