Lavelle A. Smith age 67, of Laurel, Mississippi, died Sunday December 1, 2019 at his residence in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, May 10, 1952 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Bro. Shane Singleton will officiate. He was retired from Howard Industries after 44 years. He was a member of Park View Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and attending dirt track racing.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Smith, parents Malon and Patricia Smith.

Survivors include his son Corey Smith, two brothers Billy Smith (Joan) and Terry Smith. Nephews Carroll Smith, Michael Smith and Ken Smith and nieces Cara Smith, Sherry Smith, Terri Smith and Brandi Smith. A special friend Mary Davis.

Pallbearers will be Billy Smith, Terry Smith, Carroll Smith, Alex Davis, Butch Owens, Doug Cooley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Johnny F. Mauldin, Danny Corey, Anthony Register, Wilber Windham and Ken Smith.
