Leamon Thomas Sumrall, 85, of Laurel, MS passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Thursday, January 27, 1938 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel on 4593 Indian Springs Road. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. The burial will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. He was preceded in death by his sons, Calvin "Scooter" Sumrall and Kelly Sumrall; father, Lucian B.  Sumrall; mother, Clara B. Boyd Sumrall; brothers, Pat Sumrall (Eloise), Prentis Sumrall and Lincoln Sumrall (Mary); sisters, Heddie Loper (Broom) and Ruby Jerdan (Joe); brother-in-law, Gerard Saucier.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Sumrall; daughters, Theresia Sumrall, Deborah Sumrall and Chelsea Thornton; step-sons, Robert Wayne Thornton and Ray Alan Thornton (Sheri); brothers, Paul Ray Sumrall, Sr., Shelton Sumrall (Elaine); sisters, Rita Saucier, Artie Yocum; grandsons, Nathan Sumrall (Laine) and Tyler Thornton (Katie Strickland); great grandson, Levi Thornton; brother-in-law, Howard Yocum as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Windham, Tyler Thornton, James Clark, Wayne Thornton, Barry Dunagin, and Kirk Thornton.
