Lesa Danette Wheat, 62, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at her residence in Laurel, MS. She was born on November 19, 1963, in Laurel, MS.

Lesa enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Family meant the world to Lesa. She was her niece’s and nephews’ biggest fan, rarely missing a game. She treasured every minute spent cheering them on and celebrating their milestones.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Evans; brother; Tim Evans; niece, Sadie Evans; nephew, Jeremy Bradberry.

She is survived by her loving family, including her mother, Betty Evans; sisters, Donna Evans, Krista Sisson (Donald); nieces, Kayla Knight, Amber Sisson; nephews, Corey Bradberry (Tayler), Jacob Bradberry (Chelsie), Jared Sisson(Nicole), Jonah Evans, Noah Evans (Ann Leyton); sister in law, Anna Evans, and a host of great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 24, 2026, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00PM at the same location. Bro. Danny Bullock. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, MS.
