Linda Ann Welch, 78, of Soso, MS, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. Born on May 11, 1947, in Laurel, Mississippi, Linda lived a life full of love and dedication to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luther Jerry Welch, her daughter, Lillie Darnell Welch, her father, Charles Wilson Carney, her mother, Mellie Lucy Hall Creel, her step father, Alvin Creel, her brothers, Billy Carney and Jr. Carney, and her sister, Lillie Pearl Bangs.

Linda is survived by her son, Dewayne Welch and his wife Crystal, her daughters, Stacy Forbes and her husband Robert and Pam Butler and her husband Chris. She also leaves behind her sisters, Pansy Nell Robertson, Penny James and her husband David, and Faye Eldridge and her husband Joe. Linda was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, located at 4593 Indian Springs Rd, Laurel, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM at the same location, with burial at Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Scott Robertson, David Welch, Brennon Welch, Hunter McLemore, Nathaniel Herrin, Dax Yoder, and Chris Gibson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kaiden Barnett, Chris Butler, Robert Forbes, Hunter McKenzie, Joe Eldridge, David James, McKinley Butler and her beloved nephews.

Linda will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
